WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) Accreditation
Mount Saint Âé¶¹¹û¶³’s University is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). WSCUC is a national accrediting body responsible for the evaluation of the quality and effectiveness of colleges and universities offering the baccalaureate degree and above. The accreditation process provides public assurance that the university meets the Commission’s standards and supports the university’s ongoing self-evaluation and improvement.
Âé¶¹¹û¶³ hosted its most recent WSCUC accreditation visit on November 13-16, 2023. Following the visit, the Commission specifically commended Âé¶¹¹û¶³ for: 1) commitment to mission and a diverse student body and faculty, 2) investment in the equity, diversity and justice (EDJ) initiative, 3) assessment plans and processes, 4) a mission-aligned strategic plan, 5) successful comprehensive campaign by institutional advancement, and 6) faculty mentoring of undergraduate research. As a result of the 2023 accreditation visit, the Commission acted to:
- Reaffirm Mount Saint Âé¶¹¹û¶³’s University’s accreditation for a period of eight years.
- Schedule the next comprehensive review, with the Offsite Review to take place in spring 2031 and the Accreditation Visit in fall 2031.
- Schedule an interim report to be submitted by November 1, 2028 to address the following areas for development: 1) financial analysis of academic program portfolio, 2) support and retention of administrators, faculty, and staff, 3) student retention and graduation goals and metrics, 4) assessment of students’ postgraduate preparation, 5) Board of Trustees engagement with disaggregated institutional data, and 6) evaluation of academic administration structure and decision-making.
